Sofisa is a young company built by people who came up through hands-on commercial construction. We started Sofisa to run projects the way we always thought they should be run — senior on site, honest about pricing, and personally accountable for every trade decision.
Our team's experience covers the full range of interior commercial work — office fit-outs, restaurant and hospitality build-outs, retail, medical and industrial spaces, and full interior demolition back to base building. We know how to sequence trades, protect an opening date, and hand over a clean, finished space.

Single Point of Responsibility
One contract and one project manager from demolition through to handover, instead of a chain of subcontractors passing the schedule between them.
Trades Handled Under One Contract
Drywall, framing, ceilings, finishing, demolition and abatement are carried out by our own team, which is most of the critical path on a commercial interior.
Senior Site Supervision
A senior superintendent runs the site on every project, and the owner is directly involved rather than reachable only through an account manager.
Work Around Operations
Hoarding, dust control, protected access routes and night or weekend shifts so occupied floors, neighbouring units and trading stores keep running.

What Sofisa does, and the rules we work under
Scope
Sofisa is a commercial general contractor. Our own crews carry drywall and framing, ceilings, commercial and interior demolition, Type 1, 2 and 3 asbestos abatement, and mould remediation. We also deliver interior build-outs, fit-outs and commercial renovations under one contract. We do not take residential work.
Ontario rules on every job
Construction sites in Ontario run under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects). Larger projects need a Notice of Project filed with Ontario's Ministry of Labour before work starts. Asbestos work is classified Type 1, 2 or 3 under Ontario Regulation 278/05, which sets the containment, respirators, training and air testing for each type, and Type 3 removal requires written notice to the Ministry of Labour before it begins. Asbestos waste is packaged, labelled and hauled under Ontario's waste management regulation (R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 347).
Permits
Building and demolition permits are issued by the local municipality where the project sits. We work with the owner, landlord and designers so the permit, the landlord's requirements and the schedule line up before we mobilize.
