Commercial general contractor across the GTA — Mississauga, Toronto, Brampton, Oakville, Vaughan, Etobicoke, Markham & Burlington.
One contract, senior supervision, and drywall and framing, demolition and asbestos abatement handled on the same contract. Pick the city closest to your project.
Sofisa Group Inc. works from Mississauga. Crews mobilise from that yard. The city pages cover the same commercial work — drywall and framing, demolition, asbestos abatement, and interior fit-out — and not residential projects.
How we cover the GTA from Mississauga
Every Sofisa crew mobilizes from Mississauga, so the eight cities above are all served from the same yard. The commercial scope is the same in each city: drywall and framing, commercial and interior demolition, asbestos abatement and interior fit-out. What changes from city to city is who issues the permits.
Permits are local, not regional
Building and demolition permits are issued by the local municipality, not the region:
- Peel Region: City of Mississauga and City of Brampton.
- Halton Region: Town of Oakville and City of Burlington.
- York Region: City of Vaughan and City of Markham.
- City of Toronto: Toronto Building handles both Toronto and Etobicoke, which has been part of the City of Toronto since amalgamation in 1998.
Asbestos rules are the same everywhere in Ontario
Asbestos work is classified Type 1, 2 or 3 under Ontario Regulation 278/05 wherever the project is, and the owner's designated substances list is required before tendering under section 30 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Asbestos waste is handled and hauled under R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 347.
Site walks and emergency calls
Site walks are free across the GTA. The office is open Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and emergency restoration calls are answered 24/7 at (647) 963-4310 or info@sofisa.ca.
GTA questions
Do you take commercial work outside the eight cities listed?
Yes, case by case. Our base is in Mississauga, so most work is in Peel, Halton, Toronto and York Region. For larger commercial demolition, abatement or fit-out scopes elsewhere in the GTA, send the address and drawings and we will confirm whether we can staff it properly before we price it.
Why use one commercial general contractor for demolition, abatement and drywall?
Because the hand-offs are where commercial jobs lose time. When the same contractor carries the asbestos abatement, the demolition and the new drywall and framing, the sequence is planned once, there is one schedule and one point of contact, and nobody waits on another trade to show up. Sofisa handles all three under one contract.
