What happens after you send a request
We read the scope you send and reply by phone or email to confirm what is in and out. If the work needs a look on site, we book a free site walk anywhere in the GTA. Then we send a fixed-scope number in writing, with what is included, what is excluded and how the work will be sequenced. If the project involves asbestos or other designated substances, we confirm the abatement type (Type 1, 2 or 3 under Ontario Regulation 278/05) before pricing, because it changes containment, crew and schedule.
What to have ready
- The project address and the floor or unit, plus whether the space will stay occupied during the work.
- Approximate area and a short scope: demolition, abatement, drywall and framing, fit-out or renovation.
- Drawings, photos, a landlord work letter or building rules, if you have them.
- A designated substances survey, if one exists. Under section 30 of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act, the owner must list designated substances present (such as asbestos) before a project is tendered. If you do not have a survey, tell us and we will explain what is needed before abatement or demolition is priced.
Commercial projects only
Sofisa takes commercial and industrial work: offices, retail, restaurants, medical and dental clinics, warehouses and multi-unit industrial. We do not take residential projects. Our WSIB clearance certificate and General liability insurance certificate can be sent with the quote on request.
